Here
I'm sorry to post on this issue, but I have done my research and have found nothing to solve my issue.

I added some old MP3 albums to iTunes the other day and every single time I launch iTunes it "analyzes gapless playback" on the same group of songs.

The songs analyzed are a mix of random MP3 and iTunes purchases.

Is there anything to do about this?

What is Gapless Playback?
Of course, in the newer versions of iTunes, the "Part of a Gapless Album" checkbox is gone. However:
Gapless Playback in iTunes
Gapless playback is always on in iTunes version 7 or later, unless the Crossfade feature is turned on. If Crossfade is on, only audio files that have the "Part of a gapless album" option checked and are capable of being played gaplessly will play with no gaps:
You might try toggling the "Crossfade Songs" checkbox in Playback Preferences, quitting iTunes, restarting it and setting the checkbox back to normal position. This might jog iTunes to start doing the right thing.

I get this scan every time I open up iTunes and I have no idea how to fix it.

It is almost like it is not remembering the gapless info for certain songs.
