iTunes does not recognize the iPhone

Hello, I intend to unload some data from my phone to my iMac (so that iOS does not have so much to backup)
I have connected via USB and it does not display an icon in iTunes like it used to do.

Config
iPhone 6
iTunes 12 running on Mac OS Sierra

Error message is: iCloud storage is almost full but that may just be a symptom because root cause is that I need to make move some data from the iPhone to the iMac.

Can anybody help?
