Hi

A couple of days ago I bought 1 song from the iTunes Store (my 1st one ever) and could play it using iTunes several times. Yesterday, I wanted to transfer the song to my iPod 3G and iTunes didn't let me do that  But Worst is iTunes doesn't play the song anymore
The computer is authorized. If I try to play the song in iTunes nothing happens at all. I've checked I have the latest version of iTunes 4.7.1 (30) and the Ipod updater says my iPod is up-to-date (v2.3 for 3G iPod).

Does anyone know what can be wrong?

Hey There:

Make sure that you have not created multiple accounts for the iTunes music store. When you click on the Music Store "playlist" make sure that the account name on the upper left of the window is the one you used to purchase the tracks. Sorry, that's all the advice I can offer.

Thanks. I will try that. Unfortunately I'm going away for a few days and I don't have access to iTunes so I'll check that next week.
I really wanted to have this one song on my trip... :(

Just checked and it's the right account. I checked the details online and it says 1 machine authorized which is fine. The purchase history is ok. And it's still doesn't play the f****** song
Just upgraded to iTunes 4.8 and still no luck...
Damn you Apple...

Convert the songs you bought from iTunes to MP3 format. That's what I did and it worked fine.
What program did you use?

Not having an ITMS to check this out, could iTunes itself convert DRM music to mp3? I don't mean the long-winded road of burning to CD and re-importing, but simply through the advanced menu.

I just went into the "Advanced" option. Then chose to convert the selected song to MP3 format. It worked for me when I was trying to burn an MP3 CD. It gave me duplicates of the song, one in AAC and one in MP3.

I tried de-authorising/re-authorising, no luck...
In the end I contacted their support and they made the song available for download for free. Now it's working fine, playing from iTunes, burning to cd and transfering to both iPod 3G and mini.
Don't know what was wrong in the first place though.
