Mac Pro running ML, iTunes 10.7 and use WiFI Sync with local backup. As of today (or yesterday) iTunes doesn't show or see my devices (iPhone 4 and iPad 2). When I try a manual sync from either device it says looking for Mac Pro but nothing happens. Both say last backup 10/17. If I plug direct USB into my Mac, iPhoto sees them but they don't show up in iTunes. When I go into iTunes: Preferences: Devices it shows no backups. I have tried a reset too.

How do I "force" iTunes to see them? Also want to upgrade to iOS6 but need to know I have my backups. Where are the backup files located??

this happened to me once before. I rebooted both the Mac and iPhone to fix.

Had already tried that (3 times), but said reset instead of reboot.;)

Tried Time Machine but it would not replace. Says iTunes is part of OS X. Then tried to delete iTunes (to reinstal) and it would not allow.

FIXED: Went to Apple site then downloaded and reinstalled and now shows my Devices and my backups are back.

Strange OS X/iTunes hiccup.
