I bought that u2 box set for way too much money and some sort of error popped up which i thought said the purchase couldn't go thru, but turns out it did. When I tell itunes to check for purchases, I get 1 of 3 errors.
"Unable to check for purchases. The network connection was reset
Make sure your network connection is active and try again."
(modem is always connected and active when it says that. I get that error 95% of the time.)
Occasionally, the first time I try, I get "Unable to check for purchases. An unknown error occurred (3).
rarely, I get "Unable to check for purchases. An unknown error occurred (-9844)."
I tried getting a free song. It unexpectedly started to download fine, so I hit stop. I told it to check for my free song purchase and try downloading it again which made the errors pop up which I did expect.
weird stuff. Whatever the problem is seems to be purely checking for purchases. I emailed apple itunes email support, but they said this isn't the kinda thing they fix and call applecare which I don't subscribe to. I'm hoping they update itunes next week and it's magically fixed.
