iTunes Download Issues

Recently I've been trying to download TV shows off of iTunes on my MacBook Pro. For some reason TV shows (or movies) will not download. I start the download and everything appears to be fine but the download just sits at 0% and doesn't change. Music and apps will download as normal which as me completely stumped as to why TV shows will not. I tried downloading the TV shows on my iPod touch but this method also did not work. I've tried reinstalling and updating iTunes, updating my Mac, restarting, fixing permissions, etc. but nothing is working. Please if anyone can help me with this it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
