I bought an iPhone 4 from eBay and spoke to the guy today because he said he tried to restore it to factory settings and is getting error 1403. He first erased all content and settings, then tried doing a restore thru iTunes and gets error 1403 and the iPhone gets stuck. I think he is on iTunes 10.1 so it's not the latest, and I assume this is the issue. It's probably trying to ask for 4.3 and can't accept it?? Anyway I want to know if it's still safe for me to buy it and attempt to restore myself.
