Hello,

I recently bought a Iphone 4s, and i haven't had any trouble with it. Until recently, when it needed a 'recovery'. So when i plugged the iPhone in my Mac, started Itunes and did a recovery, the recoveryprocess was aborted and popped up a error (error 26, which is not noted on the internet). So my Iphone is practicly useless now.

Does anyone have any experiences with this error? How do i solve this problem?

-Mike

EDIT: Just in case you ask, my Iphone is not jailbroken and is just is a week old.
'NOTHER EDIT: PLEASE help me out =( I'm going on vacation on Friday and i really want my Iphone working on that time. Getting desperate here.

Thank you for your answer. I googled a bit and i encountered this too. But i understand sn0wbreeze is a tool, and i don't have it. And if the NOR flash firmware is false, how do i solve it?

not sure what the error 26 problem is because I havent looked but you should not need a restore on a phone that is only a week old. you need to take it to an apple store and they should and will replace it. set an appointment so you dont have to wait. you can also try calling apple and let them help you troubleshoot it. good luck!

I consider replacing my Iphone is the final solution, i'm pretty sure it is a software problem. If i only had time to make an appointment, because we're going on a vacation on friday.

I'll make a phone call to the store where i bought my Iphone. I hope they can replace it within now and Friday.

So was a trip to the Apple store your solution, Straffehond?

I recently ran into the exact same problem with my iPad 2 and have yet to find a solution. I get error 26 when trying to do a clean restore in iTunes. I hoped todays release of iOS 5.1 would install properly, but no such luck. Tried in restore mode and DFU mode, on three different computers, different cables, different versions of iTunes, and so on.. I'm out of ideas.
