Hi guys, I've been trying to figure this problem out for the last 12 hours and it's doing my head in!
I have an iPhone 4 on 4.3.3 (bought it from ebay and not sure if it is actually working!).
I try to do a complete reset (through the phone) however it hangs at the progress bar.
I try to restore to a downloaded 4.3.3.ipsw (666mb) but iTunes fails to get signed at the server and throws out the 3194 error.
I've had a look and play around with my host files trying various combinations:

# Copyright (c) 1993-2006 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host
#74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com
#127.0.0.1 gs.apple.com

# localhost name resolution is handle within DNS itself.
# 127.0.0.1 localhost
#74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com
#127.0.0.1 gs.apple.com

I've also done the tiny umbrella unchecking thing.

I'm stuck!! Please help!?
