Does anybody know what the iTunes Preference "Use Error Correction When Reading Audio CDs" does? Any change in sound quality? Any reason not to use it? I can't tell the difference in with sound quality and it doesn't seem to negatively impact my importing speed on a D1.25.

It's great, I had a cd that was about 5 years old, it was scratched so much no cd player could play it. They skipped every second to a random part somewhere else on the cd. I put it in iTunes, and 25 minutes later, the whole CD was encoded, with 1 chirp. I was amazed that it was able to get past all the scratches that nothing else could read.
