I randomly get the following error message on my MacBook (late 2008 aluminum) when it wakes from sleep and iTunes has been left running:

"We could not complete your iTunes store request. The network connection could not be established. There was an error in the iTunes store. Please try again later."

Once i click OK the issue seems to be resolved and I appear to be able to access the iTunes store normally without problems. It is more about being greeted with an error message when the MacBook wakes from sleep that kicks my OCD into overdrive and makes me need to find a solution as this obviously is not normal behavior for iTunes.

I am running the latest version of iTunes (11.0.4) and OS X 10.8.4. The issue started around the time I updated my iTunes to 11.0.3, I had hoped that 11.0.4 would correct the issue, but it has not. I also should mention that I use iTunes Match (as some internet research suggests this could be part of the issue). I have tried the following (which are based on internet research on similar iTunes errors):

1. Logging in/out of iTunes
2, Turning off/on iTunes Match
3, Turning on/off Genuis
4, Resetting my keychain

None of these have seemed to work. As I said above, the issue seems to be random, but seems to always happen when I wake the computer after several hours (or overnight). Any help and/or suggestions anyone could provide would by greatly appreciated!

I get that message sometimes when my clock/date is out.

Thanks for the reply! I saw this as a solution to a similar issue on the Apple discussion boards and checked my date, time and time zone and all were OK. I have my computer set to get the time and date from the internet but they were both accurate.

When Mavericks comes out, I will probably do a clean install and hope that fixes the issue. But it will definitely drive me crazy until then, so any additional suggestions are absolutely welcomed!
