Well, a head-scratcher: Updated to Itunes 10 for windows 7x64 bit. It wouldn't let me update the 32 bit version. All worked fine before that. My daughter's macbook still plays through the stereo fine, via the airport express. But, my pc Itunes, finds the airport express, when I click play it says it's tuning into it, then it plays according to the pc screen, but nothing - no sound. Checked volume controls, which keep resetting to zero by the way, but even when they are up, no sound. ????? Any clues?

I am having this same issue. Everything was working fine previously, but now nothing. Has anyone experienced this?

Did you check your cable connections? Volume control on iTunes? Volume control on the speakers?

Yes, I have checked each of these. I'll run some double checks when I get home - change speakers, etc.

The weird thing is, I did not change my setup at all - and things just stopped working.

same same but different

When I hit the triangle in the square icon in iTunes and select that it should play through the express I get the Airplay prompt: Connecting to xxxxx's airport express..but nothing happens, after a minute or so the prompt just goes away.
Strange thing is that both of the iPhones in the household have no problems connecting and playing through the Airport.
Anyone with the same problem?

I got it.

I had reset my Integra receiver but forgot to run power to my zone 2 speakers through the receiver.

No power = no output from speakers.

Thanks for the help though.

Crackrash - I suggest closing iTunes and then doing a hard reset on your airport express. Open your airport utility to set up the express again. After that restart your computer, open itunes and try again.

i have an express that joins my existing wireless network, i've found that sometimes rebooting the main wireless router will fix the problems of not being able to connect.

i've also had problems when the wired connection goes through the router to my airplay enabled stereo, rebooting the router helped here too

is there anything different in the path that the signal takes from the iphones than it does from your computer? if so try rebooting that.
