I just moved my folder from a 500gb shared external drive, to it's own nice and dedicated 500gb external drive. I migrated the files over, I verified everything was there. I kept things running for a week before finally starting to delete the files off of the old external drive. I never deleted them from the new iTunes dedicated drive.
So last night, I wanted to check something, and I open up the itunes folder on my external drive, and it only lists like, 50 folders out of several hundred. It stopped at C, not even showing movies or tv shows which I have...
In Itunes itself, everything is still there. I can watch the movies and shows and listen to the music. Heck, I can even search for and find all of my files, and the drive confirms that my 200gb plus of itunes files are still there....
anyone able to tell me what happened/what I did that might be keeping the significant majority of my files from being seen as they had been? Hoping it's something stupid like a folder view, but i am a complete mac novice so I have no clue
******
and no sooner do i post this, disconnect and reconnect the drive (third or fourth time since havng the issue) and the full list of folders shows up again. quite odd....but glad they are back
