Itunes folder twice as large as library?

I notice that my itunes folder is 57.5GB yet my library is only 27.23GB which is clarified in the iTunes music folder. I don't understand where the rest of the data is coming from and what it is - no signs of it in the folder.

Also what are the .tmp files? Another thing what is previous itunes library folder for?
