so, the ipod player is undoubtedly the king for music/video, itunes for legally downloaded music, 4 billion and counting, and now movie rentals.
so, what about amazon, the new kid on the block? it seems the music studios are happy, no apple and jobs, drm free songs also. i wonder if the movie studio folks will join up with rentals?
so, itunes gets no drm free songs from the music studios, except emi, as of yet, right? i wonder if itunes ever will become drm free? could the movie studios help apple win back music? if amazon ever catches on and becomes user friendly, look out apple! i know, it's all about selling ipods, itunes just breaks even, right? RIGHT/WRONG, investors/wallstreet don't see it that way. i own 10 shares of apple, a macbook, an ipod, and i want to buy a new apple monitor, when new ones ever come out, i hate buying dell.

and, apple tv (take 2) for $229 and $329 way too much. i'm not saying they won't get it, but unlikely to succeed. it's way too easy to have netflix delivered and no more unsightly settop boxes. but, for $99, say in every wallmart, target, sears, bestbuy, and costco it might work. i know that even i would buy it then. the profit is in the mass quanity, cheap access to movies, music, and photos. somebody will do it.
