Trying to help a friend using iTunes under Windows (I know, poor them!). They say:

My iTunes now freezes every time it tries to download waiting podcasts.

That's all the info I have - but is there some cache or preference or something they can delete? I'm not familiar with the Windows version of iTunes.

Any help would be appreciated!

I was a longtime Windows user and there were many, many times when it looked like iTunes was frozen but was just doing something in the background. I'm talking like 10-15 minutes worth of nothing but the scrolling barberpole up in the status window.
If there's any graphic activity on the screen at all (like the scrolling barperpole) I would say to wait it out for at least 15 minutes and see if it finally recovers.
If the barberpole actually stops scrolling for more than a few minutes then it might indeed be frozen (which I also had happen more than once).
If that's the case then maybe a library rebuild will help.
