Whenever I'm playing music in iTunes 4.8 on Windows XP Pro and open Firefox, if I load a page or download something, iTunes stops the song for like a second. Its REALLY annoying.

I'm virus free, spyware free, and all hard drives are healthy. I have 1 GB of RAM and 2.4 GHz Intel Pentium 4 HT processor.

It never used to skip, only recently...

Please someone help.

Nevermind, I fixed it.

Stupid QuickTime 7.

You need to disable "Safe Mode (waveOut Only)" and set the way QuickTime handles Midis to GENERAL MIDI instead of QuickTime's way.

I wish QuickTime and iTunes werent so interconnected, because its a quicktime problem that ruins iTunes!

THANKS!

Thanks so much! My iTunes (windows xp) started skipping for no reason I could figure out, and I found your post via google. Fixed my problem --- thanks again!
