iTunes for Windows won't open

I downloaded and installed the latest version of iTunes on my PC with windows vista 32 bit and when i double click on the icon or select iTunes and try to open it nothing happens. But then when i check my processes it says that iTunes is running. What can i do to bring up iTunes.
