iTunes freezes while playing an audio CD

The audio cd is on my gf burned in iTunes on Vista. The media itself is fine, it'll play on another vista machine AND my Macbook via VLC, but won't play on my Macbook with iTunes 7.5. Anyone else having this issue? or know a way of solving it? It'll play 2 tracks and then the third or so will cause the cd-rom to get loud and then itunes will freeze.

The same thing is happening with mine.

The thing is, I'm using an Intel Mac with 10.4.11 OSX.

When I insert a music CD, Itunes freezes after two songs. It doesn't matter what section of the disc you start at.

I can import the disc and burn it to a blank one just fine though.

I could swear this started after the last Itunes update was offered sometime in the past few weeks.

If you don't feel like waiting, you can download the free VLC media player from http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

That's one way of getting around this.
 
The problem I've got with Leopard/iTunes 7.5 is that after playing 2-3 songs from a CD then iTunes freezes. It imports perfectly fine without a problem...
 
turns out after more careful reading of the aforementioned thread from the Apple Discussions that one also needs to deselect "Error correction" option in the Import tab... I've successfully played 3 songs in a row and now on the 4th!!!! :)

yup. Same with me. It's working fine now.

I still think they're way behind in taking care of these problems.
 
Audi CD now importable :)

I have had issues with this too. Some users have suggested this:

- Click on "iTunes" Tab on the Menu bar
- Select "Preferences"
- Click on "Import Settings"
- Deselect "Error Correction"

However, this is only part of it. These are the steps you should follow after completing the steps above:
1) Click on "iTunes" Tab on the Menu bar
2) Select "Preferences"
3) You will see two checkmark boxes below "Import Settings". If either of them is checked, uncheck them.
4) Presto! You will be able to Import Audio from your C.D's!

~I hope this works for those of you having iTunes problems and importing Audio~
