Just in the past few days - whenever I try to update my ipod it doesn't work at all. I connect the ipod - which is then recognized in iTunes, and seems like it's going to sync but instead beachballs and doesn't sync at all. Then if I try to do anything outside of iTunes I can get about one click in before everything completely freezes and I have to restart the computer. I don't recall doing anything that would mess iTunes up like this but I don't know what the problem is. I thought maybe it was the ipod [video - 30gig] so i tried syncing my nano [last non-video version] and it has the same problem.

after doing some searches to try and find the solution i thought i would try and downgrade to itunes 6. long story short i ended up not being able to do that and redownloaded itunes 7 from apple. i thought maybe this would help but i still have the same problem. but i've been using this ipod on this computer with the latest itunes since I got it back in the summer.

does anyone know where i should start?

btw using:
ipod video 30 gig
macbook pro

Thanks. I didn't even know what pram was - but i looked it up and reset it.
