iTunes Genius Feature

Hello everyone
I have been using the iTunes genius feature and found that it doesnt work with songs I have imported from CD or bought from other places like Amazon. Only songs from iTunes work with the genius feature. Has anybody else expierenced this and does anybody know of a way to fix it?

It will come eventually, make sure your track tags match iTunes. A couple of songs I got on Amazon because of not being available in iTunes at the time took about two months after iTunes added them for Genius to work.

Ok i will wait
but i recently bought the new green day album, 21st century breakdown. I bought it on Amazon cause it was cheaper there then iTunes. It links me to the album in iTunes and everything. I update my genius and still nothing. I recently also bought a song on iTunes and it created a genius no problem.
What is the underlying cause? could it be file format or something like that?
