iTunes genius question

Does iTunes genius take all music into account whether purchased through iTunes or ripped from CD? If so, I take it it does NOT work that way for movies since it is recommending that I buy movies that are already in my library.

Yes, Genius takes all of your music into account. However, that doesn't mean that it will later work for each and every song. I often have country specific songs that it can't match with anything else, since Apple's song database simply doesn't know the song!

In my opinion, it only works for music files, but I don't have any movies in iTunes.
