itunes getting stuck while updating files on iphone

I am dragging and dropping music into the iphone through itunes. I get this message at the top of itunes: updating files on iphone - preparing to update

It shows all the songs greyed out in the que, copies 1 or two of them then just stops alltogether. Leaving the song names there greyed out.

Is this a glitch?
