iTunes gives you a message after carrier has unlocked phone?

My carrier unlocked my iPhone and told me to sync with iTunes, wish I did. Are you not supposed to get some kind of message in iTunes that the phone was successfully unlocked? The sim-card from my new carrier is not working, just getting "no service".

Or do you have to update to the latest IOS-software in order to get it unlocked? I'm still on 4.3.1.

Try a restore or update to the latest firmware.

That would remove the jailbreak - a no go.

Seems like the problem is solved. Apparently my old carrier did not do a proper unlock, but on the second try they nailed it.
