iTunes hang upon sync

My iPhone has been syncing flawlessly since last July and last week iTunes started hanging after initiating a sync. I have all of the latest software (OSX 10.5.2, iTunes 7.6, and iPhone firmware 1.3). This seemed to have started with the latest iTunes update, but I'm not positive about the timing.

Wondering if anyone else is having this problem.
