iTunes hangs when synching calendars to iPhone

I don't know if anyone has seen this issue before. I've had my iPhone (4GB model) since last Friday and yesterday I plugged it in to synch/charge. It went fine until it got to calendars, and then it would just hang. It looked like it was synching, but it never got past calendars even when I left it for like 30 minutes. If I uncheck the box for synching calendars then the rest of the synch goes just fine. Anyone have any idea what might be causing this? My phone isn't unlocked or modified in any way. Synching calendars worked fine up until yesterday.

When you open the Calender app does it work normally on your mac?
There may be somehting wrong with that which is causing it to hang itunes while syncing.

Nope, iCal works just fine on my computer. I'm going to try it again after I update the phone this evening (have to wait until I get home from work) and see if anything changes.
