I look at their trailer website, say, for this movie:

http://www.apple.com/trailers/focus_features/awaywego/

(John Krasinski!) And dang, it looks stunning in HD. However, when I go to the iTunes store and look for a TV show in HD, find one, I see no difference between the preview of the clip in HD or in Standard Definition. Maybe it's just the preview is all I'm asking.

So, is the preview SD and the actual bought thing HD?

The preview clip must not be HD then. When you purchase HD content, it is 1280 pixels wide, and if the content is 16:9, 720 pixels tall.

The previews are usually SD.
