Itunes help please

I keep getting this message when i open it, and it doesnt recognize my Ipod Touch.

"The software required for Iphone is not installed. Run the Itunes installer to remove Itunes, then install Itunes again"

Ive done that like 20 times and i keep getting the same message. I cant restore my touch cause it doesnt recognize it.

Help please.:confused:
