Hey guys, quick question!

I am trying to share my itunes library between my MBP and a new Dell laptop I got for work. The two laptops are within five feet of eachother and both have itunes sharing enabled and the firewalls have been told to allow the two to run.

Is it even possible to share an itunes library between a mac and a pc? or are the programs fundamentally too different?

thanks for any help!

There are problems if I remember right, sharing files windows to Mac. Do a search here at MR for the subject of Mac and PC networking for the best answer.

Sharing files yes, but not music via iTunes as iTunes will just look for the software regardless of OS, we've got hundreds of people on Macs at work and thousands on Windows ;)

They can all see shared libraries with no issues.

Do they also both "Look for shared libraries" switched on and also are they both on the same network?

And not just on the same network, I believe the computers need to be within the same subnet (if W.X.Y.Z is the IP address, W, X, and Y need to be the same on both machines).
