I noticed this in the Activity Monitor app, that the iTunes helper frequently shows "Not Responding"!
My Questions are as follows:
1) What is iTunes Helper exactly and what does it do?
2) Is it important/necessary to run iTunes?
3) Can I remove it from process without hampering iTunes?
iTunes Version 12.2.1.16
Device Information:
Model: MacBookPro8,1, BootROM MBP81.0047.B2A, 2 processors, Intel Core i5, 2.3 GHz, 8 GB, SMC 1.68f99
Software: Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10.4
MacBook Pro (13-inch Early 2011), OS X Yosemite (10.10.4)

If Yes, how? If No, how do I fix the freeze session?
