Just wanted to confirm if this is an intended limitation of the iTunes Home Sharing.
In my home network, I have a Mac Mini that houses all of our family music, photos, and videos. I also use this Mac Mini to wire-sync my iPhone and iPad to. I have a few playlists created on this Mac Mini iTunes as well.
I also have Home Sharing enabled on that Mac Mini so the other Mac laptops in the house (as well as our iPhones, iPods, iPads, and Apple TV boxes) can all see that iTunes library and play any of the playlists.
My wife would like to be able to sync her own iPod to her own MacBook and edit and sync her playlists. I told her I don't think that is possible and she would have to log onto the Mac Mini and do it all from there (as I have always done). Am I correct in that assessment? I tried and didn't see a way to edit or create playlists on the Mac Mini from any of the networked MacBooks (much less sync via lightning cable either from that MacBook). Thanks!
