itunes home sharing - lossless?

Hey,

I am working on a new setup for my home media.... wondering the following:

When using home sharing, the mac itunes library I am accessing has a bunch of lossless audio files. when I play them back through home sharing onto my airplay speakers, does is their lossless playback maintained?

perhaps one of the most cryptic questions i have ever asked...

Yes, it's lossless if the file is not above 44khz/16bits (if so, iTunes downconverts it to 44khz/16bit).
