iTunes - how to auto add Genre?

Is it possible to have iTunes scan/analyze your music library to automatically tag your songs with the correct genre? Ideally with info available from the iTunes store?

I foolishly deleted the genre tag from my entire music library years ago, but I'd like the ability to sort based on genre. Since iTunes can create Genius mixes, it must be able to automatically determine genre since I don't have any tags. Yes? No?

Any help would be appreciated.

If the current version of iTunes doesn't support this feature, will the introduction of Yosemite (and presumably an iTunes update) bring any hope?
