I have a family of 4 (all own iDevices) and we all share the same Apple ID for purchasing content. I have a MBP and an iMac. The iMac is new, and I'd like to create multiple user accounts for each person. However, I want our iTunes library on the iMac to be mirrored across all users. In other words, if person A buys a song while logged into their user account, I want the same song to appear when person B logs into their user account (again, we all share the same Apple ID).
With iTunes in the Cloud, I can easily keep my iMac (currently just one user account--admin) and my MBP up-to-date because they are both set to download any purchased songs, apps, books. As well as having Home Sharing turned on. This keeps my MBP and iMac libraries in sync at all times.
On the iMac, I want iTunes to look exactly the same regardless of who is logged in. This means playlists, new songs, smart playlists, apps, books, etc.
Is this possible, and can someone give a play-by-play on how to set this up? I'm thinking this has to be possible, (especially with iTunes in the Cloud, Home Sharing, etc.). I've read about dropping the iTunes folder in a shared folder, but have also read where some have had issues doing this. So specific instructions are greatly appreciated.
Before screwing something up, I figured I'd ask for clear guidance from some of you who might be doing exactly what I'm looking to do.
Thanks in advance,
Cosmo
