Hey,
I;m trying to use iTunes, BUT everytime i opne it the deathly beach ball appears and doesn't go away... it happens the second it opens... or ill plug my 1st gen ipd touch in and the beach ball stops for .1 seconds and recognizes my ipod then starts again....
help:(

i was trying to avoid that... i have been working with it since liek 4 pm yesterday and i finally organized my library.. but if worst comes to worse then i guess itll have to be that :(

i fixed the issue.. it seemed to have to do with my music folder itself.. its on an external drive... and when i rebooted the drive itself it fixed the issue...such a simple solution... i feel kinda dumb :p

Quick question. How do you reboot your or a external drive?

It sounds like you solved your problem, but I had a similar problem and I thought I'd share my solution in case it helps someone else. My beachball of death in iTunes was caused by the audioscrobbler plugin that was installed by Last.fm. As soon as I removed that iTunes functioned perfectly again and syncing went smoothly.
