Hello!

I've created a bunch of .mp4 files as well as apple lossless files (24/96) and when I try to put them on my iphone via itunes, i am told they can't be transferred because the file types aren't supported*. This is contrary to iphone specs - the thing is supposed to support both file types.

First of all, I can't believe that an Apple iphone won't support an Apple Lossless format file. That makes zero sense. There must be something I'm missing.

In fury I simply whipped open iphone explorer and imported the files into new folders in phonedrive (a separate app). Lo and behold, ALL files were accepted for transfer and from within iphone drive can be played, no problem.

So what the hell is up with finicky old poopy-pants itunes and why do I have to resort to storing some of my files in a separate app? I shouldn't have to - I want to see ALL of my music / videos all together from within the same location.

Am I missing something? Because this kinda defies logic.

I *should* be able to drag my sh#t into itunes and then transfer it straight to my phone. Why will phonedrive accept these files but not itunes?

----------

* and yes, i am aware the iphone technically can't play 96khz files, but why isn't itunes smart enough to do what iphonedrive can do? iphonedrive isn't all "woo, i can't handle this sample rate, i won't play you."

as for the mp4 movies, i remain bewildered. they play perfectly within iphonedrive.
