Hi, I have just bought a macbook to replace my iMac G5 and I need to transfer my iTunes/iPhoto library across

Please can someone advise on the best way to do this? I have a Firewire cable, can I use this?

Thanks

Yes, you can. Connect the two machines via firewire, then boot the G5 with the T key pressed, this will boot the G5 into Target Disk Mode. It should then appear as a hard drive on your other machine.

Ok excellent, I am in the process of doing this as we speak, thanks for your advice!!

Does anyone know where I can find the files I have transferred, I have looked but cannot see anything?!?

iTunes folder is in ~/Music and the iPhoto Library is in ~/Pictures. transfer these to the same directories your new mac then hold option while opening iTunes and iPhoto and select the new libraries.

Related Question?

I just bought a Macbook and I want to copy (not get rid of) my iTunes library from my iMac G5. Is this possible and if so how?

Sorry for intruding on your thread.
