title basically says it all.

iTunes is playing music while i'm browsing the web, writing papers and using it, and it randomly beach balls, and stays for about a minute and then is fine for a while, then does the same thing. Restart hasn't worked, nor has restarting iTunes. Also it does it to all songs, not just a certain one.

Is your library located on a separate hard drive?

Regardless:
Do me a favor and check "Activity Monitor" to see if there are any spikes in CPU usage by iTunes when playing/switching songs. Have everything open (work etc.) as you normally would. Post a screenshot of the whole monitor as well so that we can see how the memory is being used in general.

(Search for Activity Monitor in Spotlight)
(To screenshot: Press & hold "Command Shift 4"; then click & drag the cursor over the Activity monitor - the image is saved to your desktop)
