iTunes keeps freezing

I have a Mac Book Pro purchased about 10 months ago.

Currently running iTunes 10.6 64 bit and OS X 10.7.3

For some reason, iTunes is freezing after I open the program and it seems to be getting stuck when trying to access the App Store.

I've tried booting up in Safe Mode and repairing disk permissions but that did not work.

Any thoughts on what files I need to check or do anything with to get this version to stop freezing up?
