When trying to sync with my iPhone, anyone know why this might be? Iam running the latest version of iTunes on Vista X64.

Vista might be your problem, my brother was having problems with his Vista machine, but I think it got it working after manual restarting the Apple Mobile Device Service in Windows.
Not sure where you would restart that in Windows Vista. I know in XP its under Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services I believe. That just off the top of my head so I might be a little off.
