iTunes keeps losing music stored on network drive?

I keep alot of my music on a network drive and do not let itunes copy music so it stays on that network drive. the problem I am having is when I sync it comes up with some of the music saying it cannot find it. I always click on that network drive and folder so it's active but just not sure how to fix this.

any help would be great

It only happens to me if I don't open the share in Finder first, otherwise it's flawless with my NAS (Synology DS110j)

What sort of NAS are you using? Wired or wireless?

Buffalo Linkstation connected through ethernet to a Dlink DAP-1522

I have the same problem. If I close iTunes and reopen it, I always need to remap my itunes database on the NAS. Not sure why
