Hello,

I have had a look around and found numerous threads regarding this issue but just wanted to make sure i was doing everything right before i actually messed around with my files as i have a lot of purchased media.

I took recipt of my WD 500GB hard drive today which i would like to use for Photo's and Music i have sorted my photo's out but i would like to know how i move the itunes libary accross to the disk without loosing anything and keep everything in working order.

This is incredibly simple to do. All you have to do is this:

  1. Open iTunes
  2. Click Preferences in the menus
  3. Click Advanced
  4. Where it says iTunes Library Location, change it to the folder on your external drive
  5. Click OK
  6. iTunes will ask you if you want to copy (or move, not sure which) your media to the new location. Say yes.
