iPod touch Itunes launches and freezes when Ipod plugged in

When I plug in my Ipod to my computer it automatically launches Itunes and freezes 90% of the time, it is not until I disconnect the ipod Touch from the usb port that itunes works normally, I can usually get it to work by either re springing 2-3 times.

anyone have a clue on why this is happening?

this happens to me too. usually i can fix it if i close itunes then turn off ipod then back on. that usually works. i have no idea why though.

Need more info before can recommend any steps. Running Windows/Mac OS? What version of iTunes, iOS? What do you sync through iTunes, just music/videos or some other content?
