iTunes library lost when laptop died, still on iPhone

Hi guys,

My laptop containing all my songs, apps etc has died so i've downloaded itunes onto a desktop. From what i've read however it doesn't seem to be as simple as plugging my iphone and transferring it over onto the new itunes. Am I right?

The other thing is i've recently got the new iphone and would prefer if I could move all these items onto that new phone too. Possible?

Use sharepod to get your music and pics off the phone. The rest you can backup and sync to the appropriate software on your computer. Search on sharepod and my user name to find more detailed posts on this.
