I've wasted like 10+ DVDs trying to backup my itunes library. It keeps failing different times. I can't tell where or when

It just gives me an error cannot backup, try again, cancel

anybody is having that problem??
I might just take it back and get it fixed if I can't find a solution
I have a macbook, the ones that came out in February with the memory update $250 black macbook

It is likely just the brand of blank DVD media. You may have to experiment a little to find a brand that works with the DVD drive in the Mac. Those thin, slot loading drives are just not as robust as the full size one inch tall units. The trouble with using DVDs to back up an iTunes library is that every DVD has to burn without error and even if it works the DVDs don't last forever.

Your best bet is to buy a few external hard drives and rotate them as back ups. Eventually everyone figures out that DVDs don't make good backup media.

but I want to be able to backup playlists and the counter and so on
The only that it can be done easily..or so I've read is through DVD backup

right?
