itunes library on a mac & pc

So in anticipation of getting an ipod and a macbook I started setting up an Itunes library on my PC. Thing is I want to be able to add to and use my library on both computers. Is that possible. Can I save my library on an external HD and then use it with both? What's my best option in this case?

I think you can, but you need to format the external Fat32 instead of NTFS.

If you format the external hard drive as FAT32 then you will be able to access it from both Mac and PC. One thing to bear in mind is to keep your Ipod in Windows format. If you change it to Mac format you will not be able to access it from your PC.
