I want to simplify my current method of managing my music. Currently I have an Ipod that I sync with an iMac using iTunes. However I also rip my cd's to flac (which are then mirrored to MP3) using a linux box running the Vortexbox software.
Here's what I have:
mp3 library A (on the Vortexbox mirrored from flac): This is my "master collection". It has pretty much all the artwork, all tags are cleaned and files are organized properly.
mp3 library B: It has 80% of the songs in A, it is organized by itunes. The tags need work. However, this library has playcounts for my iPod and I have several playcount dependent and last played dependent playlists that I use.
Here's what I would like to do:
Save a copy of the library files for library B. Delete library B. Point itunes at library A and rebuild library file. Do some sort of search and replace in the itunes library files to add the playcounts from library B into the virgin library A. Is this possible?
