So today I opened iTunes and all my music and apps were gone. None of the music was being synced to my iPhone. When I checked the box for "Sync Music" the following message popped up: Are you sure you want to sync music? All existing songs and playlists on the iPhone will be replaced with songs and playlists from your iTunes library. The strange thing is, the current music on my iPhone is the music from the iTunes library before everything disappeared. Does anyone know a way to sync music and apps but keep original playlists and apps? Also, does anyone have any idea why this happened! Thanks :)
(sorry, this shouldn't be in mac basics and help)

Assuming that your music has gone, and you want to sync your iPhone, stop the sync as soon as it starts, then untick the Sync Music option. That will prevent all the music being deleted from your phone.

Re missing music, have you checked Home Folder>Music>iTunes>iTunes Music to check whether it's there or not? Plus you do have a backup don't you?
