Does anyone think that Apple will take iTunes a couple steps into the past in terms of how much of a resource hog it's become. It's super obnoxious in my opinion and I really somewhat want to go way back in the iTunes time machine to when it was good.

Is there a google equivalent to iTunes? That would be sweet.

I guess I mean the memory and all it's "cool/new" features bog it down.

I very often have the pinwheel if i change songs quickly or something like that and iTunes does crash. It should be noted my mac isn't old either.

iTunes works great for me with no resource hogging. I'd take a close look at your system configuration and what's running. Too many like to blame iTunes when many times, the source of their problems lies elsewhere.
