i bought a newer powermac (dual 1.42ghz) to use in my office, and i downloaded about 10 cds to itunes.

i come back half an hour later and they are all gone.

i've used spotlight to find the track or .mp3 but it can't find anything.
whats going on?

I am using itunes 8 on tiger.

I'm not the only one then, If bought from Apple ask for a redownload if you ripped them yourself just rerip them.

Did you buy the CD's via itunes or rip them? Itunes bought music is .mp4
Music are video files????? It is .m4a or .m4b if audiobooks.

They are my own personal CDs so it isn't too big of problem, but I just wonder what happened to them.

and I searched all the .mp3 and .mp4 and all the other ones
and it can't find anything...

i think it may be a iTunes 8 bug.

Did you try .m4a? or .m4b? The ones iTunes rip to as standard (I think).

yes I tried that.

& i also forgot to say:
when i logged in my background was the tiger default, and my dock had none of my apps on it, just the basic, calender, safari, and the others.

wierd.
